Stand For Something

Robert T. Davenport 1979 (Newark, New Jersey)

Stand For Something
By Robert T. Davenport

In a world where choices abound,
Where voices clash and truths are found,
Stand tall, my friend, with unwavering might,
For in your convictions, you'll find the light.

Do not falter, do not sway,
Hold steadfast, come what may,
For those who stand for something true,
Can change the world, and so can you.

In the face of doubt, and fear's cruel call,
Rise above, stand proud, and never fall,
For it is in our strength, our unwavering stance,
That we find the power to make a difference.

Let your voice be heard, let your heart be strong,
Injustice and ignorance, you shall not prolong,
For when you stand for what is right,
You inspire others to join the fight.

In unity we find our strength,
In compassion, we go to any length,
To build a world where love prevails,
Where justice and equality never fails.

So stand for something, my dear friend,
Let your convictions transcend,
For in your unwavering resolve,
You'll find the power to evolve.

And when the winds of doubt may blow,
Remember, it is in your heart you'll know,
That standing tall, against the tide,
Is where true strength and courage reside.
