Halley's Comet

Is it a brilliant a star?
Coming to brighten the Earth,
But still too far...
For those who wish,
Upon shining stars like this.
Hoping promises made,
To wish and get.

Only to discover,
This to be a comet and not a star at all.
Appearing sixty or more years.
Eventually to forget,
What it was to wish for.
As Halley's comet begins to be witnessed,
Fading away.
Yet...
Not as fast nor as quick,
As a falling star to wish upon it!
