Thoughts of Yellow Tulips

I’ve been daydreaming again;
the sun drips honey and the sky is golden.
I should let go, but can’t once I get a perfect grip
on this fleeting fantasy. I plead
with you to watch with me carefully
before the Aquarius full moon starts to slip.

When endless Novembers threaten my sanity,
thoughts of yellow tulips fill me with clarity;
we can plant our own to make up what we lack.
Future memories never stop playing in my mind.
I think about you and me on a peachy perfect beach all the time;
we can leave footprints in the sand to find our way back.

When the daylight clears,
and all that’s left are seasonal fears,
I’ll know that you’re still with me here.

These glimpses won’t hold,
I know they’re just for show
but the daydreams are worth waiting for.
Because even when they’re all dressed up with no where to go,
hoping is feeling, and one day, I know,
they won’t be just daydreams anymore.

    Oh how lovely this is! Like a sweet whisper. Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing this. It brought a sense of nostalgia, made me feel calm. I very much enjoyed it. Plus I love the color yellow so I am always happy when it's included in poetry. It's just such a feel good thing. Thank you again! Many blessings to you.
