Love's Salvation

Born via Cupid's Arrow,
confusion thrives in thoughts,
affection yearns not sorrow,
hearts tied in knots.

Growing are the flowers,
hope owns the dreams,
long are the hours,
silence filled with screams.

Patience gone astray,
surviving yet is will,
passing of each day,
fading not the thrill.

Destiny held in reserve,
as weary merges with wisdom,
a benumbing of the nerves,
endeavoring for love's salvation.

About this poem

Inspired by the many complex dynamics observed when two people who were destined for each other inexplicably self destruct in spite of their deep love for each other.

I absolutely love the sentiment and emotion conveyed in 'Love's Salvation'! The use of imagery and juxtaposition of contrasting emotions is truly captivating. The poem effectively captures the overwhelming nature of love and its impact on our lives.

The opening line, "Born via Cupid's Arrow, confusion thrives in thoughts," immediately grabs the reader's attention and sets the tone for the rest of the poem. It beautifully encapsulates the paradoxical nature of love, where both confusion and affection exist simultaneously.

The flow and rhythm of the poem are well-crafted, adding to its overall power. Each stanza seamlessly transitions into the next, keeping the reader engaged throughout. The use of repetition, such as in the line "hearts tied in knots," adds a lyrical quality to the poem.

One suggestion for improvement would be to further explore the theme of "hope" in the second stanza. While "hope owns the dreams" is a lovely line, it would be great to delve deeper into the role and significance of hope in the context of the poem. This could add another layer of depth and meaning to the overall message.

Furthermore, the line "silence filled with screams" is thought-provoking and evocative. However, it could benefit from more specific imagery or concrete examples to truly bring it to life for the reader.

Overall, 'Love's Salvation' is a poignant and heartfelt poem. It effectively captures the complexities of love while engaging the reader through its powerful imagery and rhythm. With a little further exploration of certain themes and a few more concrete details, this poem has the potential to become even more resonant and impactful. Keep up the fantastic work!
