Tarnished Diamond

While donning blinders,
all may not be what it seems,
you may only see the tarnish,
you may miss your everything.

Infrequent, the opportunity
only had by few,
reluctant, to the unity,
which could start anew.

Destiny has this path,
one with much not seen,
an eternity, one may not hath,
if choosing to gleen.

Diamond in the rough,
not yet refined,
cravened, for this dearth,
oft love is blind.

About this poem

When two people are attracted to one another, often times although they are attracted, one of them harbored more reservations than the other. In spite of a genuine chemistry shared, preconceived notions can form a barrier stalling growth in their relationship.
