Intimate

Sarah Brower 1995 (New Jersey)

Your touch though kind
will never sustain
lips gentle as the lamb
will never suffice

Put your arms around me
thank you for affection
but the goose will never lay

Sit with me
listen to me
hear me

Speak with me
take my palm
engrave your pain

Whisper not of love
but of laughter created
by our secret language

Know why I crave space
know why I cry
and walk along side me

Do I have your attention?
is it undivided?
if it is,
then I am yours to keep

I love to express myself through poetry. I can’t force inspiration so I only write when I feel moved. Authenticity is important to me!! If I can make anyone feel heard and understood, Then my goal is accomplished. more…
