Beast of Neptune

conductor 1972 (nj)

In ocean's depths, where sunlight fades,
A beast of Neptune, whispers and wades.
No scales nor fins, no coral crown,
But fur like kelp, and eyes that drown.

Its roar, a wave that crashes ashore,
Its every step, the seabed's core.
With tusks of driftwood, teeth like shells,
It guards the secrets Neptune tells.

Through shipwrecks haunted, coral caves,
The beast of Neptune, silent, saves.
Lost sailors whisper of its might,
A guardian shadow in the night.

Not monster cruel, nor hunter keen,
But lonely king, where shadows glean.
In Neptune's realm, where currents churn,
The beast of Neptune, waits its turn.

For whispers say, when tides run high,
And storms unleash their angry cry,
The beast will rise, a titan's hand,
To calm the chaos, rule the land.
