Snow-Globe

Sarah Brower 1995 (New Jersey)

We are all just living in a snow-globe
being turned upside down to hydrate thoughts
daylight comes to make an appearance,
only to let the nightfall rein for a cold eternity

Faces stoic and familiar recite the same greetings
over, and over again standing in single file
morning coffee, work, dinner, slipping into bed
to embark a brand new day that stays the same

Wish to daydream but time lacks generous hands
selfishly it takes, takes of our energy our strength
born with chocolate locks yet turns to silver tinsel

A decade year old cannot remember yesterdays
we are all just living in a snow-globe
fingers printed into glass, stained frosted tongues

I love to express myself through poetry. I can’t force inspiration so I only write when I feel moved. Authenticity is important to me!! If I can make anyone feel heard and understood, Then my goal is accomplished. more…
