The Black Cat Follows Me

The black cat follows me.
As it follows closely behind, precisely never missing a step
It meows loudly at me.
Right in my ear, and makes the day journey a schlep.

Everywhere I go I feel its gloomy presence looming.
And the power this cat holds.
The feelings are consuming
Oh the burnden it holds.

This black cat follows me day in and day out
always in the back of your mind.
Always there during happiness, hardship, and doubt.
The feelings it brings can make you blind.

And It's everywhere I go,
No matter how far or how fast I run.
Though the thick and the snow
This cat still follows me; It is something I will never be able to out run.

They say to just let this cat go
But even though it burdens me with much gloom
I have grown close with this cat, and It is something that I know.
Something I have grown accustomed to.

And when this cat nags,
Meowing louder and louder, same meows, same format.
I know that in my brain I can recognize these flags.
And in the end it is just a cat.
