Freedom in thoughts and choices

Renelle Nava 1977 (Lingayen)

Freedom

They say men have set the standards
In values, ethics, and morals

I say women just didn’t have a voice for a long time

They limited our finances
Blinded by their nuances

Given that we are limited
We shouldn’t be forced to be committed

If we were given many choices
We could have been to many places

Our voices must be heard
And our choices must not be blurred

Give us equality in pay
And listen to what we have to say

Men have been advanced many times over
It’s time to have our chance in the matter

Let us decide for ourselves
There are things that must be put in shelves

Freedom of thought and choices
It’s what we crave in our voices
