What More Is The Waiting For?

People can be seen,
Peeking from their windows.
And behind locked shut to close doors.
With nothing more to do,
But to sneak a peek at neighbors.
Minding their business.
Either doing outside chores.
Or go shopping at a store.
What are people seeking,
To wait for more to see?
Done to do,
Without leaving their own comfort zones.
To experience free fresh air to breathe.

More are relying on what they see on TV.
To decide and believe,
This for them is proof of reality.
Then perhaps, if they should choose,
A movie that depicts a reality...
For them exists.
Making them upset to defend,
What has been fictioned to delude.
Including fairytales to learn them told.
Repeated to their children.
Limited in minds.
Fearing to be threatened,
By a truth to ignore even as they grow old.

Yet...
What are people aging seeking to validate?
Since it can not be truth.
Not with many running away,
From it to escape.
And...
What sense does it make,
To sneak peeps from windows.
And looking from behind,
Doors unlocked,
Although slightly cracked to open and see.
Their neighbors across the street.
Waving to them in disbelief.
How one that nosey,
Has nothing more to do in life.
But to find the routine of others,
Too exciting to miss to prioritize.
With so much interest than life itself!

'Come.
Hurry up and take a look at this.'

'At what?'

'The neighbors next door.
They just came home.
And guess what?
They bought a new rake.
I wonder why?'

'It would be my guess,
To rake up the leaves.
That fell off the trees.
And now...
Perhaps,
Maybe that rake will be used...
To help pick up the leaves easier.
Then to put them in paper or plastic bags.'

'No.
They could have done that with the old one.
I'm willing to bet,
They bought it for reasons...
Other than what you suspect.'

'Why don't you go over there as ask them.'

'To have them believe,
I'm one of those neighbors...
Unable to mind my own business?'

'I don't think they would believe,
You're unable to mind your own business.
I think they already know,
You are incapable of doing it!'

'Oh?
And what is that suppose to mean?'

'Once something is done repeatedly?
It becomes validated.
Taking the mystery of belief,
More of an expectation of routine.
Did they wave to you?'

'Yeah.
How did you know that?'

'They wanted you to know,
How much they appreciate...
The free security service you provide.'

'That's not funny.'

'Tell me about it.
My therapist tells me each time I visit.
I'm not the one with the problem.
And...
Maybe I should stop volunteering my mind,
Being an accessory to a crime!'
