GREECE

                                                          For Ella Pinnock

Within all of me my mother shines,
She has interwoven emotions of human fragilities in tension,
A woman giving many children of love and rebellism,
As drive in her shinning loving and sorrowing,
Children of the stuff of her and the dust of their painful father,
Rebelling against their mother’s husband,
And revolting against her husband who gave them his blood,
To only bring sorrow to my mother’s love,
And scars upon the children’s and her body,
All of this is my mother shinning in me.

                                                            MY MOTHER
    For Ella Pinnock

She was young, free girl,
With a family of Negros that could fill a hundred acres,
She ran, danced, cried, played, and loved like any young girl,
Until she borne a child a married a Jamaican
She borne many other children,
That Jamaican stocked tough, but lost his loving emotions,
The children all grew and went,
She and that unloving man stuck tight,
But now she is that young playful, free woman.
As she was when she was a girl with a large family.
