Diminished Social Anxiety

It used to be so hard for me
To socialize at all.
Not much to say throughout each day
In classrooms or the hall.

And often when I'd try again
To talk with those I liked,
I'd be afraid as if I made
The school start to dislike

My shyness ways in all the days
When I was near someone.
My loneliness caused me duress
Which nullified most fun.

It took me years to work through fears;
I walked that path alone.
Did they not care that I was there
And spent much time alone?
