WINTER
Hoar frost, brittle grass
Silence rings the frozen pond
Only the wind sighs

SPRING
Amid the new green
Splashes of brilliant yellows
All the crickets sing

SUMMER
Impatient hands snatch,
Mud squelches beneath bare feet,
The frogs hop away

AUTUMN
Looking for acorns
Squirrels scamper among the leaves
Carpeting the ground

WINTER
Brittle grasses sway
Silence rings the ice again
The cycle begins
