When Sorrow Strikes

Zealous Frank 2000 (Nigeria)

When her fangs strike near
Memories conflict with sadness
Sorrow becomes the new normal
Morbidity set off as the rising topic
You'd bet wisdom saw right into this
When she considered all as vanity
For no word is comforting
Geniality is now a stranger to their vicinity
Pain and depression is all they see
Tears and sorrow is all they perceive
Your sympathy will go a long way
Because now,
They possess a little understanding
As to why the alphabet ends with the letter Z.

About this poem

This poem explores the emotional impact of sorrow and loss. It delves into the feeling of confusion and sadness that can accompany a significant loss or painful experience. The poem suggests that wisdom may recognize the transience of life and the ultimate futility of certain pursuits, but it also acknowledges the importance of empathy and understanding in helping those who are experiencing sorrow and depression. The reference to the alphabet ending with the letter Z implies a sense of finality and completion, highlighting the deep emotional impact of the described events.
