A Bachelor's Musing

O’ love, wherefore art thou? May I find thee?
If I arrive at our sacred garden
Wilt thou be there, awaiting sight of me?
Mine heart is late blooming. I beg thy pardon!

Now I beseech thee, that thou tarry not
Make haste and let us have a warm embrace,
For we are to wed as heaven hath wrought
I’d be overjoyed just to see thy face.

Knights of olden times fought long for glory,
And poets, thereby, inscribed odes of praise.
By our God, we have a great love-story,
That may pass the test, ‘til the end of days.

Come hither, that I may kiss thee right now,
And have thine honor as fate will allow.
