Goodbye



Her head was on my chest,
With a peaceful smile, on her face.
That amazing naked body,
Lay gently, in my embrace.

I softly kissed her forehead,
And she urged her hips, closer to mine.
This would be our last time together,
Our story, was at its last line.

And we didn’t know.

About this poem

One of the most selfless and honest relationships I have had. If only we had known that this night would have been our last together, what might we have done differently?
