Inertia

It is not just speculation
Knowing, if you should decide

Whether to be taking chances
here with me,

which you would not ordinarily
be inclined otherwise

to do with anybody else.

Merely speculation,

As i observe you
showing in signs

Both of your
confidence and fear.

This proven not
merely as a respite

In the hard fought battle
between us And our wills.

Although, it’s instrumental
to our sense of purpose

To relate. Seeing how
it accentuates

My confidence
in our common grounds

Firmly implanted
with an appreciation

And respect for
your dreams and mine,

Our relative stability
The inherent ability

we have to get along
with one another

as you consistently
inspire me,

Now further along,
into taking this chance

at loving life
with you
