What is death?

According to the dictionary, death is the permanent cessation of all vital functions. Death is the end of life. Technically, death is the inability of the brain to function properly as it responds to other body parts via nerves and neurons. Often times, deaths are viewed as everlasting tragedies.  To me, death is liberation in one’s life.
Death that is inflicted upon oneself is liberation of one’s soul and someone else. It sets people free because they will no longer have to worry about the security of another. Also, death of someone else makes someone become less tense and apprehensive and more accepting and relaxed. Death can make someone to come back to reality and focus on what is authentic. In addition to this, it makes one to become more vigilant about the surroundings. After someone dies, we begin to re-evaluate what our priorities are and what makes us happy the most.
Death also serves another purpose. In a weird way, death makes us appreciate what we are granted. Thankfully, it makes people more grateful of what they have in their lives. Death brings about spiritual, social, mental, physical, and emotional change. When someone familiar dies, we become closer to others and start caring more about life.
A death of someone close to me makes me feel that are closer to a higher being, which I consider God. God taught us karma and spiritual eternity, which is passed down from one generation to another. In other words, whether good or bad, everything happens for a reason. Despite naysayers or nonbelievers, God set up a timeline for everyone on earth. What we do not realize is that death is inevitable.
For example, the death of the Germans in the concentration camp in Auschwitz was seen as a death of liberation. Although million of Germans died, they were able to escape the struggles (being hung; placed in the oven), torture (murdered; beaten) and injustices with the laws. During the Nazi-regime era of the 1940s, it was better to die than to live because there was a sufficient amount of help from other countries to create change in Germany.
Death is the physical absence of life. Moreover, death is inescapable suffering of the mind and body. Although death is viewed as negative thing to happen to someone, must note that death can also be positive. Thus, it is safe to say that death can serve as liberation from something or someone.
