poetic love

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I want to keep my eyes shut if this is not my new chance at a happier reality, and the thought of you is not a lucky hand that I had, being I was the one calling every lover bluff but just one of my more lucid dreams.

I want to love you more and hold onto you a bit longer, knowing the answer is not inside the bottle of well-aged whiskey. Oh, my love, just kissing your lips makes me a little stronger.

Just the thought of you brings me to the rivers and the highways that I never went down, and to the end with you, I want to get up and travel, not just go.

We were just strangers until my words, which I would think of as poetry, brought us together inside of a storm that was the only forecasted weather for us, and now here we are, keeping each other warm.

There comes a time in every lonely travel mind when all the wishes on the ground are found, and every picture we take is a memory of this poetic love we make

These images that are inside of my heart or head are the exact words that I say now but never said before because I never knew that open arms can be called home, and with this poetic love that keeps my fire burning during the winter nights, I know this soul of mine will never be alone.
