Lost in communication

Free verse

I am trapped
in the threads of emotions
that people wind around me
not always aware

sometimes suffocating
other times tender
moods come and go
makes being human uneasy

saying or not saying
two different things
feeling the lie
crack in trustabillity

where I am so in need of
in the connection to others
to cross the bridge
in understanding and forgiveness

while it is not a one-way street
it takes effort on both sides
and only if the other chooses not
it lacks my wound to heal

existence is not without pain
in my daily contact
disconnecting myself from life
is not something I just do

when the pain becomes to much
a shield provides comfort
by shutting people out
even the ones I love

Feeling this. Directly not just the words. Expressions of love hurt sometimes. When wasted as loose threads. Unwoven. Lost or stolen. Tapestries of greater things meant to be. Maybe, if we are lucky reminders we are more human when we feel the hurt, knowing we are vulnerable perhaps greater for it. more »
