Daughter’s Delight

In a world of dreams, you stand so tall,
A daughter cherish’d, admired by all.
From lacrosse fields to legal lore,
You've spread your wings, you've soared and more.

Twenty-four years, a tapestry spun,
A journ’y from a girl's up-eey to the woman you've become.
A promise to protect you thru thick and thin.
With each stride, determination in your gaze,
You've carved a path through life's winding maze.

Organized and driven, you seize the day,
Impatience a fire, lighting your way.
In your heart, a sweetness, pure and true,
A beacon of kindne’s shines through.

Beauty graces you, both in and out,
A radiant spirit, there's no room for doubt.
Not just skin-deep, it's the light that you share,
A warm’h that surrounds, a love beyond compare.

A corporate world awaits, in NYC you'll find,
A skyline of dreams, a future so kind.
Lifestyle of excitement, chaos and cost be damn’d.
Fierce belief in justice, equality, and the common man and more.
With each step you take, you'll leave a mark,
A legacy built on purpose and spark.

Beside you, potential for a love tried and true,
A friend and a memory of seven from the past, who may stand strong with you.
Muse’ms and jazz clubs and eateries galore.
Bound by the law, and a shared hope to see,
The world's wonders unfold, from sea-to-sea.

Barcelona's charm, Parisian streets,
Where ancient stories and new dreams meet.
By your side, hand in hand you'll explore,
Writing tales of advent’re, for-ever-more.

To the one who may hold your heart so dear,
Listen closely, let these words be clear.
She’s a steal, not witho’t a deal, with a lot of ache and a care.
A promise to protect you thru thick and thin.
With honor and intentions pure and true,
A sacred trust she could place in you.

Be steadfast, be faithful, through thick and thin,
In every storm, let trust begin.
Commune and let your souls entwine,
And let your love be the strongest sign.

So here's to you, my daughter, my pride,
In your presence, my heart finds its stride.
A promise to protect you thru thick and thin.
May life's journey ahead be filled with delight,
As you conquer each day, with purpose, with might.

Words and writing have always interested me, but the transition now is from scientific writing (which is based on logic and the rational) to a more emotive, lyrical form. At present this remains an experiment to see if I can strike the right tone, elicit a desired effect, etc. Full disclosure: I have been utilizing chatGPT as an "assistant"; I provide the prompts, edit extensively, yet the structure is provided by my assistant. I take full responsibility for the end result. Not that dissimilar to work on a scientific project in the lab, etc. more…
