Our century does not run with windmills

Joseph Berolo 1934 (Bogotá)

Our century does not run with windmills

In incessant sowing of words
the dreamer walks around the earth.
They call him Don Quixote, just like that,
He is a poet and knows how to fight with beasts.

Of dreams and illusions possessed
He never knew how to distinguish between
what he wanted and what was excessive
while dreaming he thought it was beautiful.

Unprepared suffers unspeakable things-
His sorrow is so big that it only consoles him.
dreaming of a beautiful woman who dreams of him
giving him shelter even if she doesn't love him.

He still travels through the entire land of La Mancha.,
sad and lonely he walks his paths,
traveler is of myths and chimeras-
It still sails with the wind of mills.
