Terpsichore

Morning breaks,
The dawn's embrace
Begins,
And light,
Like blood,
Spills over
Night's demise.
In darkness' grip,
A scarlet haze
Now gleams,
In wait
For Terpsichore,
Swift in her race,
Across blue heavens,
Marking time's
Swift flight.
And we,
The mortal children
Of this Earth,
Arise from slumber,
Eager to partake,
In each other's joys,
In shared delight,
A simple smile,
Exchanged
In humble grace.

About this poem

This poem describes the break of dawn and the arrival of light, comparing it to blood spilling over the end of the night. In the grip of darkness, a red haze illuminates, anticipating the arrival of Terpsichore, the muse of dance, as she swiftly moves across the sky, marking time's passing.
