Nature Whispers

How long the day is.
Beating its chest, making its presence known.
Consistent and steady with an unwavering
tone.

A train trudging forward on
precarious tracks,
cogs burning hot and
smoke bleeding black.

At the end of a continuous circle,
brief sanctuary from moments hurtful.
Wind whistles through the trees,
and room opens for the soul to breathe.

When all thoughts disperse
then nature whispers.

About this poem

Days can be long, loud and exhausting. They can be unpredictable and seemingly never ending. When night comes the world's a litte quiter. A person can relax and feel safe, allowing the subtle qualities of the world around them to be revealed.
