Seasons of Life

In life's journ’y, seasons unfold,
A tale with unknown turns, precious and bold.
From spring's tend’r bud to winter's serene,
Each phase a treasure, a changing scene.

Like spring's first bloom, in youth we rise,
Our hearts alight as star’y skies.
Innocence flourishes, life flowers anew,
As life's vibrant palette paints our debut.

Summer commeth, oh, radiant prime,
A blaze of passion, a rhythm in rhyme.
We bask in the can-do of ambition's fire,
With boundless energy, soaring higher.

Autumn arrives with wisdom's embrace,
Leaves of experience falling with grace.
Color’d memories of yore, both gold and red,
A life liv’d, well or no, whither paths we tread.

Winter approaches, a season so wise,
Reflection and peace in its frosty guise.
Regrets, jubilation roads not taken galore
Time slows its pace, as snow blankets all,
In the silence of grizzl’d visage, we stand.

As seasons change, life’s ever-changin it’s ways,
With no regard to it’s owner’s gaze.
A cycle of growth n decay, a constant gift.
Embrace each phase, for beauty lies true,
In the tapestry woven of seasons and you.

Mani S. Kavuru

Words and writing have always interested me, but the transition now is from scientific writing (which is based on logic and the rational) to a more emotive, lyrical form. At present this remains an experiment to see if I can strike the right tone, elicit a desired effect, etc. Full disclosure: I have been utilizing chatGPT as an "assistant"; I provide the prompts, edit extensively, yet the structure is provided by my assistant. I take full responsibility for the end result. Not that dissimilar to work on a scientific project in the lab, etc. more…
