Joy of Flying

Under severe clear where dreams find their flight,
An adventure aloft, in the purest of light.
In a Cessna's cockpit alone, takin’ to the sky,
Un’xpect’d canvas of clouds, always on edge, abide or die.

Single engine hums dodging the fluffy balls climbing up high,
A dance with the winds, always on edge, where spirits can't lie.
In this ethereal world, where eagles may roam,
Find my own solace, my spiritual home.

It's a marriage of tech and the heavens above,
A harmony of science and a suspensi’n of reality with pure love.
Gauges and buttons galore, with chatter on the radio.
With risks in the marg’ns, always on edge, and thrills on the wing,
Embrace the unknown, like a bird on the wing.

For up here, being one with the vast open space,
A communion with nature, a sublime embrace.
The world shrinks below, as I ascend to the blue,
In this exclusive realm, always on edge, where dreams can come true.

A Cessna, my vessel, in this daring ballet,
Where joy meets adventure in the light of the day.
A pilot's world, on edge, both otherworldly and grand,
I touch the divine with my heart in command.

Mani S. Kavuru

Words and writing have always interested me, but the transition now is from scientific writing (which is based on logic and the rational) to a more emotive, lyrical form. At present this remains an experiment to see if I can strike the right tone, elicit a desired effect, etc. Full disclosure: I have been utilizing chatGPT as an "assistant"; I provide the prompts, edit extensively, yet the structure is provided by my assistant. I take full responsibility for the end result. Not that dissimilar to work on a scientific project in the lab, etc. more…
