Let me be true to feelings poor in wealth
And love the simple things we find in life:
Yes, like a child not rich but full of health,
A working man, a loving and faithful wife.
Let me be true to feelings humble in sense
And love those things in life free to acquire,
Like to behold the sky in size immense,
The pearly moon, the rose in tears admire.
Let me be true to feelings simple, man!
That no amount of wealth can buy true love.
And happiness with money's a sad plan
Like wish just a mere fly soar like the Dove.
Let me be true to feelings poor, my friend.
And then, my death on earth a happy end.
