Sonnet # 65

Luis A Estable 1958 (Oriente, Cuba)

Those simple things that move a human heart
More than had wealth, the riches of a man.
The feeling had when eyes behold great art.
And those who Jesus love, God's gracious plan.
Those simple things that bring delight for free
And give more fun than any pearl or gold.
The moon is full; your passions give you glee.
Under an apple tree your Love your hold.
Those simple things in worth no words can tell
That truly do surpass a diamond ring.
The child who's blind and knows her mother's smell.
When spring does come, the sounds of birds that sing.
Those simple things that really make me cry.
A grown-up soul plays with a butterfly.
