All is Hope

Nora Elrayes 1986 (Illinois)

Lost and I wonder, with eyes wide open,
In this vast world, feeling helpless and broken.
All I have is hope, a flickering ember,
Burning within for something better.

This isn't a cry to be saved, no plea,
But a soul searching quest, to set myself free.
I've tried everything, or so I thought,
But doubt creeps in, have I truly fought?

I'm creative, so why isn't anyone buying?
Maybe it's my circumstances, poverty underlying.
Is living only for the rich? I ponder and sigh,
As dreams fade away, like stars from the sky.

They say God loves his strongest soldiers,
But after 37 years of struggles, doubts smolder.
Does He truly love me, in this darkened night,
Or am I being punished, hidden from His sight?

What test am I enduring, the purpose undefined,
A constant battle, a soul searching grind.
But deep down within, I hold onto my belief,
That through all the tribulations, I'll find relief.

For all I have is hope, a driving force,
Guiding me through this labyrinth of course.
I am not lost, just searching for the way,
To break these chains, embrace a brighter day.
