When Tears Come

When Tears Come

It happens all of a sudden
When tears come
A feeling buried deep
Surfaces undone
I think of your loss
And all I can do is cry.

Memories of love lost
Remind me life is fragile
I risked everything
And forfeited safety
I cherished you
And was punished for it.

The Moon follows me
Saying the Sun
Still smiles in dark times
Your moment passes
I remain big hearted
And love still lives here.

When tears come
A heart is purified
And pain becomes less
Smiles spread slowly
Returning after the rain
Stops falling inside.
