Faithful Friend

Tracey Lee 1973 (London)

He wakes in the mornin' and whines at my door
"Mamma wake, I'm hungry" and lifts up his paw
A little ray of sunshine with a glint in his eye
Runs for the kitchen
funny little guy
Picks up his bone
runs down the hall
Barking playfully
he picks up his ball
Patiently waiting
a cute happy face,
Nudging my arm for a warm embrace
Wags his tail
then runs on ahead
Rolls on his back and pretends to play dead
Curious looks and a dear little frown
My comfort , my friend when I'm feeling down
God you created such wonderful things
The abundance of fun and love he brings
Faithful friend , you make me smile
Each day you make my life worthwhile.
