Time

If we could snare time,
keep it contained,
a slave to our whims.
Hasten it,
if circumstances irk us,
have it freeze,
when we share a kiss.
we could rewind moments,
or put it on a loop.
We could stretch sunsets,
elongate passionate nights.
But time is no prey,
it slips through unnoticed.
Years cascade
with celerity,
making our fancies
ill conceived.
So, do no not wait
until tomorrow,
nor delay
in courtship games.
Time eventually shapes feelings.
