Saffron Encounter

Prevaricated replies,

tempered by a devious smile.

He exudes a foul aura,

a shifty disposition.

Vermillioned forehead,

a trident in hand.

An unkempt, villainous beard,

tobacco stained teeth.

His word is his weapon,

encircling your senses,

feeding on your superstitions,

He's got u right where he wants.

His bag of tricks,

creates powder out of thin air,

Gangajal at his fingertips.

Enraptured you gaze on,

while he coaxes your naivety.

He's talked his way into your wallet,

and you walk away a poorer man.

Confused, you wonder aloud,

to make sense of what transpired.

And you begin to realize,

You've been taken for a ride.

Frustrated, you seek out the godman,

but the chameleon's lost

in a sea of humanity.

Your rueful smile

can't help appreciating,

the silver tongued rogue,

a master of his fraudulent art.
