Broken Beyond Repair

Broken beyond repair,
By people who never seem to care
Tearing me down while building themselves up
Death by a Thousand Cuts, my bitter cup

Friends who never give a fair return
Riding my coattails, they never learn
And when I stumbled and fell apart
They left me alone to heal my heart

Like Peter, you denied me three times
Leaving me alone, hanging and crucified
Asking for deals with payment up front
When it was done, I was used like a c***

Lovers, too, as bad - or worse,
Feigning love, but only to rehearse,
Taking my heart to sacrifice for a curse,
Using me, intentions thinly veiled in verse

One such witch, her actions hurt the most
Sending mixed signals, was what she loved the most
Sweet promises of love, which she lured from the start,
But her true intentions pointed towards someone apart.

Making excuses to avoid days we held dear,
Showing no care, her emotions never sincere.
Trying to stay in contact with her ex, the one she adored,
My purpose only toward jealousy returned for the loved ex who scorned.

I tried to believe, but she proved me wrong,
Her intentions to me were all but strong.
I was just a placeholder, a toy to pass time,
Or a means to an end, for all her ulterior designs.

I tried to be friends, but that was just a ruse
A way to hurt me, and blow out my fuse.
Poking at my wounds, playing with my pain
Until, at last, it was all in vain

Then there are ones who waste my time and give me lies
Calling and messaging with their fake cries
Pretending they care, but they only seek their own
Treating me like I'm worth nothing, to be cast aside or thrown.

I'm far from perfect, but I'm by far not the worst
Stop pretending, admit your true thirst
It's not about personality, and mostly about your ego
That the only important quality is they satisfy your libido

I'm numb to the pain, and to the scars
Broken beyond repair, but nobody cares
Nobody sees past my shattered facade
The hurt's so deep, I feel truly flawed.

No healing will come, nor any return
I've lost my value, my worth's not earned
My friends and lovers, they shattered me
To the point I no longer want to see.

I'm done with searching, done with trying
Tired of living like I'm always dying
My soul's too shattered, my heart's too weak
I've lost my value, no worth for you to critique.

About this poem

This is a poem I wrote to help explain my own personal despair when it comes to help maintaining relationships and how two people that I once held dear have had to contributing to my own lack of self worth; along with other unfortunate life circumstances that have made me realize just how horrible and self-serving other people I've known are. Sometimes there are no happy endings, and I feel like in order to become content with my own life is to adapt to my current and possible never ending loneliness.
