SERENE SUNSET

SERENE SUNSET

I wake up surprised by the stillness that emanates
each new dawn when without any eagerness I wait
to see another day pass by again full of hopes,
my being captive of simple and serene chores.

It is not, I tell myself, that I no longer have worries
and believe in calm to be but inside so restless.
No. It's that I really navigate without log or clock,
the calmest of all moments of my days of late.

These of minutes no known if they will be in hours.
These to live in voyage to our brothers' homes
to be with them remembering old times
and the past relive and meditate in silence.

Silence amazes me and stillness dazzles the quietness
of these days of dawns filled with serene charm
and middays of joy, and feel the fullness
of existence and feel again of life the song.
