I Feel, I Am, I Write

Steve Cochrane 1955 (Cape)

I feel the rhyming in my mind.
The words just seem to be
From in my soul that try to find
Poetic life through me.

I sometimes lose myself when I
Am in my poetry,
Where thoughts take flight each time I try
For electricity.

I feel released.  No earthly chain
Can hold or slow me down.
Imagination in my brain
Composes light and sound.

I'm driven by a passion that
I seldom can control.
My thoughts are like an acrobat
Performing in my soul!
