The paradoxes

The two contrarians wants what didn't work.
Good thing it stopped there.

But before it did;
the fantasy hit the spot.

Their bizarre and niche had a blast.
Perversely incompatible
in the most compatible of ways.

They fried the toaster,
stayed in sensory overload.

Obliterated personal records,
indulged much too often.

Frolicked and played, laughed and danced,
gloriously drunk with each other.

They were both relieved when it was over.

    Contrarians is a plural name and should have a plural verb. Wants is for singular noun not for plurals. One would not write, we wants, but we want for there are more than one.
    Another thing, what or who is the contrarians? And about the fantasy, what does it refer to? Poems do not have to be obvious, but this one leaves to much to the imagination which could present a problem on how to interpret it. Would you modify it a bit?
