Surroundings

As I walk with the music on full blast

I try not to remember my past

"Live the moment while it lasts" they all say

What if I don't want to

What if I want to escape

What if I want to run away

I'd rather listen to music through my headset and fly away

With no threats

and not vex the people I love

not vex the ones I rebuffed

But what If I can't escape

What if I can't run away

What if I can't fly away

My headset sends me to this place

Far from all the misery

Each word

Each verse

Sends me to this place

Far from everything

So if I can't run away

I'll just put my headset on

and skip to that one song

that makes me belong

About this poem

This is a poem I wrote when i was feeling alone and did not want to talk to anyone about it. I love music and got inspired to write about it.
