Sophomore Year

Sophomore year:
tough,
mind blowing,
dangerous,
and fun.
Most see it as a free pass since they passed the first year with ease but for others they see it as an experience to never forget.
The students from SHS can say what they want but from the eyes of someone who sparks with creativity and optimism let me share this with you.
Our school year was far from normal in fact it was the wildest thing since covid but that's someone else's story to tell.
Most of us thought it was to be a normal school year but it was far from it.
All hell broke loose shortly before xmas break, that's when the lock downs became almost an everyday thing.
Some of us were scared for our lives, others knew that society was the one to blame.
Society needs to crack down on things a student can bring to school and not what they learn in their classes.

About this poem

This was supposed to be a poem about how I felt through my second year of high school but I guess you can see that it's more of a story. This year was super rough and I hope while reading this you can understand my writing. Enjoy!

My name is Tori , I thought- well my mom thought I should try this out since I'm always writing in my journals. And it's a great way to get over some of my anxiety and to let my creative mind see the world and be seen in a good way. more…
