Human grasp

Chandler Beatty 1966 (Coral Gables Florida)

June 23

Peace on Earth
As we are being hurled
Through space and time
As we muddle within
Our own thoughts
And deeds conquered sublime.

We dream our dreams
Real and tangible
Yet built to crumble.
Clocks having spun
Their energy spent
No time to look
No plan to see.

What was, is no more
In our race just to "be"
The Earth is changing
Collectively aware
Educated beyond just "one"
Yet we still persist
Forward without change.

The joys of yester year
Fading ink on our page
Ever flowing ever written
The indifference profound
Unlike when the book
Was ancient and read
A pushed button
And along we sped

As we watched it all
Eyeing in pictures
Proud like we were
Sun up and Sun down
Illusions of laughter
Of love and good times
Our brains full of musings

Peace on Earth
As we awoke and stretched
Constantly in motion
Pulled to a different world
Again.
through the fluidity of desire
Undaunted untamed
Unreal.

About this poem

Vague spotty blurred. Hopefully it will cling to the reader like a burr on a sweater; dry and with many tiny barbs that seem to forever remain.
