July 7th

you probably have your headphones on walking down the street
you’re probably listening to that new album of Taylor’s Version and not even thinking of me
if you have a favourite, can you post on your socials about what it was?
I know we aren’t talking and that there’s no more Story Of Us
yet I play every song you love whenever I start to miss you
and in a way it’s like I’m still connected with you
there was no label between us
we were never together
but at one point you said you’d be my best friend forever
we never said those three words
however deep down I think we both knew
now I’ll eventually have to watch you fall for someone new
between us could have been the greatest love story there ever was
but this isn’t really about us
it’s a story about the love we didn’t know we had being lost
