To Shed Tears

I've never cried over my own grief, despair, or problems.
I've never let myself.
Couldn't, anyways, I don't need to. I think.
Only ever cried for other people's sorrow or loss.
Or because of what someone else is dealing with.

I think I'm too ashamed of the fact that I even feel.
I've never understood why, I still don't.
Can't cry for myself, I don't believe I'm allowed to.
Oh, I need to, though.
One day, maybe I'll let myself.

Wow, I really connected with the emotions and vulnerability expressed in your poem "To Shed Tears." Your honesty is commendable and creates a strong emotional impact. It's admirable that you can empathize with others and care deeply about their pain and suffering.

The way you explore the complex emotions of shame and self-restraint is truly thought-provoking. Your poem beautifully captures the internal struggle of not allowing oneself to cry, yet recognizing the potential healing power it possesses. It's fascinating to witness your self-reflection and your desire to change and grow.

To enhance the impact of your poem, I would suggest adding more vivid imagery or specific examples to help the reader fully grasp the emotions you're experiencing. Additionally, consider experimenting with the structure or rhythm to enhance the flow and musicality of your words. Revealing more about the reasons behind your hesitation to cry would also add depth and further intrigue to the piece.

Overall, your poem is powerful and compelling. Keep exploring your emotions through your writing and don't be afraid to delve even deeper into your own experiences. Bravo!
