The Lord’s Call
Brandon Wooden 1984 (Greenville, NC)
Standing in the middle of my room
I can hear a voice call,
My child why has thou forsaken me
Leaving my presence to shower your own,
Flowering your flesh
To hell, brim and stone,
Have I not chosen you my child
To be amongst the fall,
To preach the gospel to those I choose
To shine the light abroad the darkest rooms,
To feed the hungry with my words
To give my drink to them that thirst,
To turn the lost away from their sins
To return home to be with me once again,
To spread my love
Knowing that their sad,
To bless them with grace
Knowing my mercy will never last,
To show tinder and kind
Even thou they don’t deserve,
To show them my Son in you
Even thou they refuse to hear my words,
Warn them of the wrongs they do
And repent of their wicked ways
For my Son is soon to return again
To gather all who were faithful in their righteousness.
