THE DARKNESS

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

The darkness calls me like the moon, and the sky reaches for the stars asking for good company and fine Italian wine. My walls, like my tears, are starting fall. I am writing my words as I paint my picture of all the childhood memories I saw in the sunset fade.

This depression is like a hangman's noose getting tighter than loose oh, come on, kick the chair from underneath me. Let me drown in some miracle that will set me free.

The darkness calls me to think I am as I once was weak. I am not answering that motherfuckers call because to that bastard, I wish not to speak.

I might be in this self-made tunnel, but I know that in the end, there's gotta be some goddamn light. This might be what seems to be the worse of this god-awful curse but believe your sweet ass, and I was born to fight my way out of the darkness

I am a person who is always full of joy and sunshine. But the darkness with its talons has tried to get a grip on my soul. I'm fighting like hell to not let it envelop me. But it's so damn fracking hard.
