SNOW

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

Snow covers the ground the same way that dreams use to cover my reality. the more the snowflakes fell the more awake I became, I ran through the streets of my old town with my tongue stuck out trying to catch them all without falling on my ass. what is in front of me? because it sure in the hell is not my past.

The snow is coming down harder writing its name on my tongue like an old lover or a new friend. the flakes fall to cover the ground but is it really for them the end they are no longer free even though everyone says they are so beautiful in their silence without making a gleeful sound from the ride they just had so the snowflakes and I are kissing like childhood sweethearts on the playground that the adults in us have forgotten about

A refreshing chuckle. Example of when less is best.
