Tram To Prague Castle
Amongst my millions of memories bound
A mundane moment, a memory found
When Mags missed the tram as ahead I went
And returned , see a Frenchman's tete-et-tete
I recalled, and Maggie would blush and laugh
And then I'd smile but now I am bereft
Knowing no more memories will accrue -
We knew, as soulmates, we were one not two
Which brings a warmth that this cold life has few
Soulmates parted, a life gone, a life lost
Leaving a broken heart and empty shell -
Never take for granted, Time, Life or Love
Tell her you love her each hour of each day
Live as one couple as this couplet says -
To fall in love is the greatest wonder
To fail in love is the greatest squander !
About this poem
When my Maggie missed getting on tram to Prague Castle and by the time I came back down to the base Tram terminus she was getting chatted up by a suave Frenchman and I came to her rescue, I think.
