Reservations

In the depths of my reservations' shroud,
Do not mistake my interest disavowed.
Overwhelmed by my desire to learn and explore,
With you, I yearn to soar.

Where shall we begin, in this thrilling haze,
Breaking the seal, unveiling new ways,
The floodgates hold emotions profound,
But confined by uncertainty, I remain bound.

In the realm of doubt, I find solace in fear,
Dreams severed by rejection's sharp sneer,
I'd rather plan and contemplate with care than have to hide away feelings, left in despair.

No refuge left, nowhere to safely store,
Feelings get suppressed and begin festering to the core,
Released in fleeting moments, a desperate plea,
Cracking foundations of fear,
Attempting to set myself free.

Time approaches, actions must be sought,
To prevent descent into madness with delirium fraught.
I remain in this realm, my control I feign,
Torn between sweet relief and my mental pain.

This false control extracts a hefty toll,
For I'm trapped within, with no room for the soul.
Opportunities lost, countless and untold,
Fear of rejection causes the heart to enfold.

Yearning for an invitation, something swift and sure,
To bypass the wait and a fate so obscure,
Longing to experience, to break these chains,
I’m knocking on your door in a hopeful refrain.
