Glory Days

The Glory days are over
Or had they ever been?
To fight with hope and valor
To fight and die again;

With scarlet sword and bayonet
Through dirt and grime and mud
Never should we e’er forget
That purchased then with blood;

Yet what glory, yet what sin
What spirit here but gone
Though the fight without be done, within
The Battle rages on
