The Meadow

Stepping into a large meadow
Covered over in flowers of magenta
golden light dripping in
around redwoods and sequoias
on all sides
Taking in this quick infusion, touching,
Smelling and absorbing every flower, bird
And doe, I am blessed enough to share
this space and time
Feeling the Sun upon my skin...
Where she blessedly fell through the trees
Just as I step back into the forest
all to suddenly missing the warmth
of the sun within the meadow

Amen
